BATS have developed a Travel Training program, a key life skill. Service users benefit from increased confidence, greater social interaction, increasing life choices and exercise which leads to well-being and reducing isolation. We believe in promoting inclusion for all.
This training is a gradual process. Our module works in stages and is designed to suit individual needs. There are six stages to fully complete a Full Travel Training program. We do offer Smaller (mini) programs also.
Every service user will receive an initial assessment, followed by a route and risk assessment. This assists the trainer in developing a PIP (Personal Independent Plan) outlining key milestones, objectives and aims. All service users will work through a working Manual which is completed in a class room setting.
BATS understand that COVID-19 may bring about new worries regarding your child being Travel Trained.
BATS trainers ensure safety is paramount, it is essential your child understands about travelling during COVID and being Travel Trained.
BATS have compiled a “Travel Training and COVID” module to help students understand that it is still very important to take up travel training at this time and ensuring an basic understanding of the rules around COVID.
You are welcome to contact us to come and deliver this service to your school or download the “Travel Training and COVID“ module.

“My Daughter, Maisie, has recently done travel training before she did the training she was a nervous wreck so was I, but since completing it, it is like I have got a different child.
